Explanation:
Hazard Mitigation Grant Program ("HMGP") provides funding for technically feasible, cost-effective activities that reduce or eliminate long-term risk to people and property from natural hazards and their effects. Broward County ("County") has been designated as one of the Local Mitigation Strategy Working Group participating entities that coordinates mitigation activities within the County. It works with local stakeholders, including the City of Hollywood, to identify, prioritize, and select eligible mitigation activities to be submitted for funding consideration under the HMGP.
On June 5, 2019, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution No. R-2019-158, which authorized the appropriate City officials to apply for a grant for two (2) new generators, one each for Sanitary Sewer Lift Stations No. E-01 and W-15 in the amount of $994,000.00 and if awarded, accept Federal Funds from HMGP. This grant required the City to commit a 25% match or $248,500.
On September 4, 2019, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution No. R-2019-259, which authorized the appropriate City officials to apply for a grant for four (4) new generators, one each for Sanitary Sewer Lift Stations No. E-3, E-6, W-14, and Storm Water Pump Station SW-08 and an additional 25% F...
