Explanation:
The Community Redevelopment Agency (“CRA”) identified the need for adding a flexible and porous material at the existing tree wells along Hollywood Boulevard and Harrison Street between Young Circle and 21st Avenue within the downtown area.
The addition of porous material will create flat area that could be used as an extended sidewalk.
The CRA staff prepared construction plans for the project, including placement of flexible material, relocation of irrigation heads, root trimming, installation of junction boxes, and adjustment of pavers as needed.
In Resolution R-CRA-2016-54, the CRA Board ranked construction management at risk firms for projects within the CRA Districts including streetscape improvements and Burkhardt Construction Inc. (“Burkhardt”) was ranked first and has provided these services to the CRA.
Burkhardt prepared a Guaranteed Maximum Price proposal for a total cost of $485,133.40 and the CRA desires to enter into an agreement with the company to provide construction services for the tree wells project.

Funding for this project is available in the FY 2020 Capital Improvement budget, account number 166.669901.55200.563010.001109.000.000.
