Explanation:

There is an Advanced Life Support Ambulance that needs replacement due to age, mileage, and wear and tear to provide emergency medical services. These vehicles are used to respond to emergencies and transport patients to the hospital. Advanced Life Support Ambulances should be replaced every seven years.

Fire Rescue is remounting a spare Medic Master Type I Advanced Life Support Ambulance onto a spare Advanced Life Support Ambulance Freightliner chassis. This process involves converting two spare Advanced Life Support Ambulances into one functioning Advanced Life Support Ambulance. This is not the most ideal situation; however, with the supply chain issues and the lead time of two years for new Rescue Units this became an option.

Fiscal Impact:

Funding for this project was included in the amended FY2023 Capital Improvement Plan and is available in account number 335.219901.52200.564530.001610.000.000.
