Explanation:
The Parking Division presented the 2nd reading of PO-2019-22, Revisions to Chapter 72 of the City Code of Ordinances on May 20th, 2020. The Commission requested changes to the revised ordinance. The item was withdrawn at the Commission meeting to make the requested changes to the revised ordinance and represent the ordinance on 1st reading. Those changes included better definition of a Resident, adding language allowing a condominium board to present documents showing they are voting on behalf of the owners and limiting the length of time for guest permits to be valid.
Chapter 72 of the Hollywood Code of Ordinances sets forth regulations and guidelines relating to parking within the City. Changes have been recommended by the recent Barrier Island Parking Study within both the Downtown and Beach areas of the City. There have also been discussions with the Commission to re-evaluate the parking permit program.
City staff have reviewed the existing guidelines and regulations and determined that the current provisions need to be updated to coincide with the City's current visions as well as be consistent.
