Explanation:
The Southern Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant (SRWWTP) is a 55.5 million gallon per day wastewater treatment facility that uses multiple treatment processes to treat wastewater and produces high quality effluent. As the wastewater goes through multiple treatment processes, activated sludge microorganisms that are not needed for the treatment processes are wasted away into a final product called "Biosolids". Before the Biosolids are entered into the lime stabilization process, water must be removed. The removal of water (dewatering) is accomplished by Andritz Separation Belt Filter Presses. The City currently utilizes six (6) Andritz Separation Belt Filter Presses for dewatering. The current Belt Filter Presses system was installed in 1995, and rollers were repaired and rehabilitated in 2011 and 2012; however, five (5) of the six (6) Belt Filter Presses need to have the existing rollers removed and replaced and the frames rehabilitated.

On January 17, 2020, the Department of Public Utilities received a quote from Andritz Separation in the amount of $1,836,805.91.
