Explanation:

On April 20, 2016, the City of Hollywood City Commission approved R-2016-102 which authorized the execution of an Interlocal Agreement with Broward County (the “County”) for financial assistance for several Community Bus Service Routes.   The County, pursuant to Article 5, Section 5.1 of the Interlocal Agreement extended the term of this Agreement for a one-year period from October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2018.

The parties desire to enter into a First Amendment modifying the Agreement to reduce the service hours and funding for existing routes and allowing the County to modify and/or terminate financial assistance for underperforming Community Bus Service Routes.  Broward County Transit (BCT) provides funding for local public transit service in the approximate amount of $10,800.00 per month ($15.00 per service hour per route, based on three routes).  Two of these routes (Hollywood - Beach Line and North Downtown Line) are underperforming and funding associated with these routes will be reduced.
