Explanation:
February is National Black History Month which honors African American achievements and recognizes their significant roles in U.S. History.
Since 1928 the association for the study of African American life and history has provided a national theme for black history month, and this year’s theme is “African Americans in wartime”.
In honor of this year’s theme, Barry University, the Liberia Economic and Social Development, Inc., AT&T Pioneers, VFW Post 8195 and the City of Hollywood’s African American Advisory Council have partnered to provide a study panel on African Americans in Wartime and a Spoken Word Competition for high school students.
The following individuals will be accepting the proclamation:
