Explanation:
The 2007/2008 Wastewater System Master Plan identified the extension of sanitary sewers to unsewered portions of the City as an overall goal, with emphasis placed on commercial/industrial areas and areas designated for redevelopment such as the State Road 7 (SR7) Corridor.

The City is installing a new sewer collection system along the SR7 as a joint project with Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) while the corridor is being widen and restored.

The new sewer collection system along SR7 was planned to allow for future sewer service extension to Johnson Street from SR7 to N. 56th Ave.

The Department of Public Utilities has also decided to install a 16-inch reuse main for future reuse extension to west Hollywood area and to implement necessary upgrades to the existing drainage system and water distribution system within the project limits.

Department of Public Utilities staff completed the design, permitting and bidding of the project.

On May 18, 2017 the Department of Public Utilities staff advertised the project soliciting qualified construction services, and on July 20, 2017, seven (7) bid proposals were received at the Office of the City Clerk and were publicly opened at the City of Hollywood Southern Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant with the following results:
