Explanation:
The Fleet Management Division of the Public Works Department requires the purchase of one (1) 2016 International Durastar Model 4300 with a Peterson Model TL-3 Lightning Loader and Model 1824 Dump Body (Combo Crane) to be utilized in the Department of Public Works Environmental Services Division to replace a vehicle that has either reached or surpassed its life expectancy by age, mileage and wear, and can no longer perform at the required operational levels. This purchase was evaluated for the use of alternative fuels, however alternative fuels are not available.
The existing in service vehicle, a 1994 Pacmac Trash/Brush (Combo Crane), has reached and surpassed its life expectancy due to age and mechanical wear and can no longer perform at its required operational levels and will be designated as surplus.
This combo crane unit will be utilized by the City's Public Works crews to perform the removal of trees, brush and debris in the departments daily operations, emergencies, vehicular accidents and during natural disasters.
