Explanation:
The City of Hollywood (the “City”) has been advised by its workers’ compensation attorney, third party administrator and excess carrier that the best course of action would be to resolve Herbert Helfen’s (the “Claimant”) workers’ compensation indemnity benefit claim relating to injuries that occurred on October 28, 2005 which were found to be compensable. A Petition of Benefits have been filed on this claim.
The City’s workers’ compensation attorney is requesting authorization to settle the indemnity benefit in an amount not to exceed $175,000.00.
Authorization of this settlement authorization of this settlement would not close the claimant’s workers’ compensation claim, only settle the indemnity portion of it.
