Explanation:
The Department of Development Services and the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts determined that additional pilings need to be installed to support the concrete stairs and handicapped ramp at the Hollywood Marina Restroom Building. Specifications and details to install additional piles were prepared by a City consultant and the Notice to Bidders was issued online via BidSync on July 5, 2017. The construction documents and specifications were viewed by thirty-eight (38) vendors and five (5) vendors downloaded the Project Manual and specifications. The bids were opened publicly on Tuesday August 2, 2017 and two (2) responsive bids were received:
Marvi Builders LLC $75,000.00
Miami, Florida
Alexander & Johnson Project $102,000.00
Hollywood, Florida
The responsive bids are shown on the attached Bid Tabulation Sheet. The administration found the low bid submitted by Marvi Builders LLC, to be responsive and responsible and recommend the award of this Contract in the amount of $75,000.00. The funding for the Marina Restrooms Structural Repairs project funding is available in account no. 01.3162.00000.575.005224 and account no. 34.3100.17421.575.006301, with successful consideration of award, construction is scheduled to start the end of September 2017 with completion in November 2017.
