Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Resolution.

Explanation:

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts advertised a Call to Artist to design and install a mural on the east facing exterior wall of the Dr. Martin L. King Jr. Community Center.

The City’s Art Selection Committee evaluated the five proposals and compiled a short list of three qualified artists based on the Call to Artist Dr. Martin L. King Jr. Community Center Mural Project Evaluation Criteria.

The artists provided mock-up mural designs that were presented to the Liberia Community and ranked during the monthly Liberia Civic Association meeting.

After evaluation, PRCA recommends that the City Commission approve the artists rankings.

Fiscal Impact:

Approval of this Resolution will not fiscally impact the City as this resolution seeks only to rank the artists.  The cost to design and install the mural is unknown until negotiations are finalized and required funding will be determined at the time.
