Explanation:
Earth Day is an annual holiday to raise awareness and demonstrate support for environmental protection. The observance of this special holiday promotes civic participation and political action. Hollywood is a Green Local Government, certified at the silver level by the Florida Green Building Coalition. The City has been a Tree City USA for over 40 years and a certified Community Wildlife Habitat since 2017. The City continuously strives to improve and maintain a healthy environment for all inhabitants.
Elaine Franklin, Environmental Sustainability Coordinator and Staff Liaison with Hollywood’s Sustainability Advisory Committee will accept the proclamation.
Fiscal Impact:
Approval of this proclamation will not fiscally impact the City.
