Explanation:
The City Commission formed the Emerald Hills Safety Enhancement District in 2017 for the purpose of funding community policing initiatives in a portion of Emerald Hills. The District Board consists of five members, and the Commission desires to add one alternate position.
In addition, the District Board has requested the City Commission amend the sections on the purpose, powers, functions, duties, and authority, and the governing board of the Emerald Hills Safety Enhancement District to have a security patrol through a police agency and/or through a private duty security company, instead of a police liaison.
Fiscal Impact:
Approval of this Resolution will not fiscally impact the City.
