Explanation:
On March 28, 2023, Natalia Astapenkova (“Claimant”) filed a civil action against the City seeking damages arising out of an accident involving a City-owned vehicle operated by a City employee that occurred on September 9, 2020.
The City Attorney served a Proposal for Settlement (“PFS”) on Claimant and Claimant’s Attorney on February 28, 2024, in the amount of $75,000.00.
Claimant and Claimant’s Attorney accepted, in writing, the PFS in the amount of $75,000.00, on March 4, 2024.
If this settlement is approved by the City Commission, the monies will be paid from the City’s self-insurance fund.
Fiscal Impact:
Funding for this settlement is available in the City’s Self-Insurance Fund.
