Explanation:
On June 16, 2022, Malak El Hassan (“Claimant”) filed a civil action against the City seeking damages arising out of a trip and fall incident that occurred on July 15, 2018. The City Attorney and Claimant’s attorney have negotiated a settlement in the amount of $80,000.00.
If this settlement is approved by the City Commission, the monies will be paid from the City’s self-insurance fund.
Fiscal Impact:
Funding for this settlement is available in the City’s Self-Insurance Fund.
