Explanation:
The Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") desires certain beautification improvements to 19th and 20th Avenues between Washington Street and Johnson Street to enhance the two corridors aesthetics and improve pedestrian connectivity.
A portion of the CRA's Neighborhood Avenues Improvements Project includes the reconstruction of ADA ramps, replacement of damaged and broken sidewalks, resurfacing and other miscellanies construction services.
On June 1, 2022, pursuant to Resolution No. R-2022-143, the City of Hollywood executed a blanket purchase order with Concrete Works & Paving, Inc. ("Concrete Works") to perform the CRA's desired services Citywide based upon Broward County's RFQ No. PNC2123416B1 in accordance with Section 38.41(C)(5) of the City's procurement code (Piggyback).
The CRA and the Department of Development Services Engineering, Transportation and Mobility Division ("Department") determined that it is more cost-effective to allow Concrete Works to perform the desired services.
The CRA and the Department negotiated the project scope and fee in an amount not to exceed $550,021.00 with Concrete Works, and staff has determined that both the project scope and fee are fair and reasonable and in accordance with industry standards.
