Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Resolution.


Explanation:
On January 17, 2024, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution No. R-2024-028, approving a Blanket Purchase Agreement (PA600836) in the amount up to $3,500,000.00 with Janice M. Riley, Inc., d/b/a The Paving Lady, for Roadways and Streets Maintenance for the period from January 17, 2024 to January 16, 2027.

At the recommendation of the City Commission, the Department of Public Works desires to issue a change order to the Blanket Purchase Agreement from $3,500,000.00 to $4,500,000.00.

The proposed change order will expedite restriping the streets, roadways, and overall general road maintenance. It will also allow for the installation of visible stop bars and roadway divider lines to address safety issues.

Section 38.48 of the Procurement Code states that all change orders that the City Manager is not authorized to approve must be formally approved by the City Commission, which includes this desired change order.

The Director of the Department of Public Works recommends that the City Commission approve and authorize a change order to the Blanket Purchase Agreement with Janice M. Riley, Inc. d/b/a The Paving Lady to increase the contract amount from $3,500,000.00 to $4,500,000.00.


Fiscal Impact:
There is a companion resolution (budget amendment) that will allocate funding in an account number to be determined for the purchase of additional and expedited re-striping and overall general road maintenance.
