Explanation:
On June 15, 2022, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution No. R-2022-178, approving a Blanket Purchase Agreement in the amount up to $500,000.00 with High Tech Engineering Incorporated, D/B/A High Tech Locating for locating services for the period from June 15, 2022, to June 14, 2024.

The Department of Public Utilities Underground Division desires to issue a change order to the Blanket Purchase Agreement PA600515 to increase the Citywide contract amount from $500,000.00 to $750,000.00. The amount of location services has increased by nearly 45%, due to the increased volume of construction projects within the City, which require utility locations before excavation. The services are necessary to protect the City's underground infrastructure. The increased number of location tickets has resulted in the Department nearly exceeding the original BPA funding; therefore, the funding increase is vital in the continuation of locating services and reduction of infrastructure risk.

Section 38.48 of the Procurement Code states that all change orders that the City Manager is not authorized to approve must be formally approved by the City Commission, which includes this desired change order.

The Director of the Department of Public Utilities recommends that the City Commission approves and authorizes a change order to the Blanket Purchase Agreement PA600515 with High Tech Engineering Incorporated, D/B/A High Tech Locating to increase the citywide contract amount ...
