Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Resolution.

 

 

Explanation:

The School Board of Broward County desires to have the City assign School Resource Officers in public elementary, middle and high schools located within the City.

 

Fiscal Impact: The City will receive a per officer reimbursement as detailed below. The reimbursement from the School Board of Broward County will defray a portion of the costs associated with the City’s School Resource Officer Program.

In year three of the agreement, if property tax values decrease 5% or more, the per officer reimbursement rate will remain at $11,355.75.
