Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Resolution.

Explanation:

SR A1A is a major road in the City of Hollywood. The Hollywood Community Redevelopment Agency (“CRA”), desires to Install Pedestrian Crossings for Safety purposes, between Nebraska and Scott Street.

The CRA recommends upgrading the standard grey color and finish of the mast arm structure to black color-coated mast arm assemblies.

On June 3, 2020, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution No. R- 2019-204, approving and authorizing the City Commission to execute Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement (“Agreement”) with the Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) upgrading the traffic signal to the black color at State Road A1A and Garfield Street.

FDOT has jurisdiction over State Road A1A and as a condition of the permit approval, the City is required to execute an amendment to the Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement No. 20190313, adding the black color paint to the three proposed pedestrian traffic signals.

Fiscal Impact:

Approval of this amendment to the Maintenance Memorandum of agreement will not have an immediate fiscal impact to the City as the CRA will provide for the maintenance of the painted pole and mast arm assemblies.
