Explanation:
National Gun Violence Awareness Day was established to honor and remember all victims and survivors of gun violence, and to declare that we as a country must do more to reduce gun violence.
Moms Demand Action is a national organization that annually sponsor National Gun Violence Awareness Day campaigns in cities and towns throughout the United States on the first Friday of June.
The Proclamation will be accepted by: Debra Hixon, School Board Member, Countywide At-Large, Seat 9 and Susan El Sheikh, Broward Moms Demand Action.
The Proclamation will be presented at the May 17, 2023, City Commission Meeting.
Fiscal Impact:
Approval of this Presentation will not fiscally impact the City.
