Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Resolution.

 

 

Explanation:

The School Board of Broward County desires to have the City assign seven School Resource Officers in seven public elementary schools, five School Resource Officers in five public middle schools and three School Resource Officers in three public high schools located within the City. The City and the School Board of Broward County acknowledge that the School Resource Officers assigned to the Elementary, Middle and High Schools are instrumental in facilitating student involvement in community service programs and projects.

 

 

Fiscal Impact:

The City will receive a total reimbursement of $1,545,000.00 from the School Board of Broward County for the assignment of School Resource Officers in fifteen public schools for the 2022-2023 school year. The reimbursement from the School Board of Broward County will defray a portion of the costs associated with the City’s School Resource Officer Program.
