Explanation:
The Department of Public Utilities needs professional services for the design, maintenance, and repair of the Water Treatment and Wastewater Treatment facility’s chemical feed systems.
These services are needed due to system aging, and the desire to upgrade the existing chemical feed system with new cost-saving technology.
A competitive process through the City of Pompano Beach (“Pompano”), RFQ E-19-22 was performed for professional consulting services for the design, maintenance, and repair of chemical feed systems. Pompano issued agreement No. 1693 to Odyssey for an initial term of five years from November 14, 2022 - November 13, 2027, with an option to renew the contract for an additional five-year term.
Odyssey Manufacturing Co. has agreed to extend to the City the same pricing under the terms and conditions set forth in Agreement No. 1693.
The period of performance during which the desired design, maintenance, and repair services of these chemical feed systems will be acquired is from May 17, 2023 through November 13, 2027 for an annual amount of $300,000.00.
The Director of the Department of Public Utilities and Chief Procurement Officer recommend that the City Commission approve and authorize the execution of the attached Blanket Purchase Agreement with Odyssey Manufacturing Co. for the desired design, maintenance, and repair of chemical feed systems for an initial term of five years from November 14, 2022 - November 13, 2027, in an annual amount of $300,000.00.
Section 38.46 of the City of Hollywood’s Purchasing Ordinance provides that the Director shall have the authority to join with other governmental entities in cooperative purchasing plans when the best interest of the City would be served.
Award is subject to the City’s receipt and approval of all insurance certificates required by the City’s Risk Manager.
Fiscal Impact:
A portion of the funding for the attached Blanket Purchase Agreement is available in the FY 2023 Operating Budget in account numbers 441.400502.53600.552240.000000.000.000 and 442.400602.53600.552240.000000.000.000 and will be budgeted in subsequent fiscal years’ operating budget subject to approval and adoption by the City Commission.
