Explanation:
The Department of Public Utilities produces wastes during the wastewater treatment process that must be removed and disposed of by specialized waste collection providers. This includes screenings and shop waste at the Southern Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant (SRWWTP).

A formal solicitation process was completed in compliance with Section 38.43(A) of the Procurement Code. On February 14, 2023, Invitation for Bids (IFB) Number IFB-058-23-JJ was electronically advertised on OpenGov.com to solicit contractors to provide screenings and shop waste removal and disposal.

The IFB resulted in a proposal from only one firm by the response due date:

A.J. Panzarella Waste & Recycling Services $254,648.80.

Fiscal Impact:
A portion of the funding for the Blanket Purchase Agreement is available in the FY 2023 Operating Budget in account number 442.400601.53600.543630.000000.000.000 and will be budgeted in subsequent fiscal years' operating budget subject to approval and adoption by the City Commission.

The Director of Public Utilities and the Chief Procurement Officer recommend that the City Commission approve the attached blanket purchase agreement for screenings and shop waste removal and disposal to A.J. Panzarella LLC in an estimated annual amount of $254,648.80.

Recommended for inclusion on the agenda by:
