Explanation:
On October 4, 2021, Anna Karahalios (“Claimant”) filed a civil action against the City seeking damages arising out of a trip and fall incident that occurred on July 24, 2020 (Broward County Circuit Court Case Number CACE-0018355-14). The City Attorney and Claimant’s attorney have negotiated a settlement in the amount of $75,000.00.
If this settlement is approved by the City Commission, the monies will be paid from the City’s self-insurance fund; and
Fiscal Impact:
Funding for this settlement is available in the City’s Self-Insurance Fund.
