Explanation:
On March 13, 2020, Chantal Paul (“Claimant”) filed a civil action against the City seeking damages arising out of a motor vehicle accident with a City employee that occurred on April 26, 2016 (Broward County Circuit Court Case Number CACE-20-004548-05). The City Attorney and Claimant’s attorney have negotiated a settlement in the amount of $100,000.00.
If this settlement is approved by the City Commission, the monies will be paid from the City’s self-insurance fund.
Fiscal Impact:
Funding for this settlement is available in the City’s Self-Insurance Fund.
