Explanation:

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts desires to enter into an agreement with Merrick Industrial Management Corporation to provide design-build services for two pickleball courts at Stanley Goldman Memorial Park.

On November 23, 2022, Request for Qualifications Number RFQ-022-23-GJ (“RFQ”) was electronically advertised on OpenGov.com to solicit qualified firms to provide design-build services for two pickleball courts in accordance with Section 38.43(A) of the Procurement Code.

The Selection Committee recommends that the City Commission authorize the appropriate City officials to negotiate an agreement with the highest ranked firm, Merrick Industrial Management Corporation, to design and build two pickleball courts at Stanley Goldman Memorial Park.

Fiscal Impact:

Funding for the agreement was included in the amended FY 2023 Capital Improvement Plan in account number 301.309902.57200.563060.001540.000.000.  The contract cost is unknown until negotiations are finalized and required funding will be determined at that time.
