Explanation:
In its fiscal year 2024 budget process, the State of Florida, through the Department of Elder Affairs, appropriated funding in the amount of $228,000.00 to the City of Hollywood. This funding was approved by the State to be awarded to the City on a recurring annual basis, contingent upon the availability of such funds at the State level. This funding is directed to the City through the State of Florida Department of Elder Affairs and administered through the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Broward County ("ADRC").

The grant funds will be utilized to continue senior citizen recreation programs and services, including educational, cultural enrichment, field trips and tours, and will be offered through the Fred Lippman Multi-Purpose Center.

For the City to begin utilizing the grant funds for the second half of FY23 and first half of FY24, it is necessary for the City and ADRC to enter into certain agreements to set forth their mutual programming goals, standards and other criteria as established by the State.

Fiscal Impact:
If approved, grant funding in the amount of $228,000.00 will be appropriated in the FY23 Operating Budget for the Areawide Council on Aging Grant of Broward County, Inc. Grant as detailed in Exhibit 1.
