Explanation:
It is in the best interest of the City's Community Development Agency ("CRA") to improve and beautify Hollywood Boulevard between N. 21st Avenue and State Road 5 (Young Circle/Federal Highway/US1) to enhance the corridor aesthetics, improve the pedestrian experience, promote redevelopment, and eliminate the causes of physical and economic blight. The CRA has identified the Hollywood Boulevard Streetscape Project ("Project") as a major capital improvement project for the Downtown District which includes the construction of landscape and other hardscaped improvements within State Road 5 (Young Circle/Federal Highway/US1). State Road 5 (Young Circle/Federal Highway/US1) is within the jurisdictional roadways system of the Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT"), and as such, FDOT is requesting to amend the City's existing Landscape Inclusive Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement to include the Project's improvements. The City's current agreement with FDOT was amended and approved by the City Commission on February 6, 2013, under Resolution R-2013-027.

Staff recommends approval to amend the City's Landscape Inclusive Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement with FDOT.

Fiscal Impact:
Funding for maintenance of the improvements is available in the Fiscal Year 2023 Operating Budget in the Department of Public Works and will be budgeted in subsequent fiscal years' operating budgets subject to approval and adoption by the City Commission.
