Explanation:

The City’s Fiscal Year 2023 Streets and Alleys Program includes proposed resurfacing projects for various streets and alleys within the City.

In order to implement the Streets and Alleys Program, the Department of Development Services/Engineering, Transportation and Mobility Division desires to piggyback on an existing Broward County contract with Weekley Asphalt Paving, Inc.

The City has a continued need for roadway, drainage and miscellaneous construction services, hence, the City Commission has previously approved a resolution for these services, which remain satisfactory. The services were competitively bid by Broward County pursuant to invitation for bid No. PNC2124420B1 on October 6, 2022, and the term of the contract is from October 6, 2022, to October 5, 2023, with two optional one-year renewals.

Broward County awarded the bid to Weekley Asphalt Paving, Inc., and Weekley has agreed to extend to the City the same pricing under the terms and conditions set forth in Broward County’s RFQ and contract.

The Director of Development Services, the City Engineer, and the Chief Procurement Officer recommend that the City Commission approve and authorize the execution of the attached Blanket Purchase Agreement with Weekley Asphalt Paving, Inc. based upon Broward County’s Contract No. PNC2124420B1, from March 15, 2023, through October 5, 2023, with two one-year renewals, to provide roadway construction services for the roadway and alley resurfacing projects pursuant to the Streets and Alleys Program.
