Explanation:
On April 28, 2021, The City of Hollywood was allocated one-time allocation funds in the amount of $1,915,134.00 from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) allocation HOME-ARP funds, as part of the American Rescue Plan.

ARP funds are to be administered through HOME to perform four activities that must primarily benefit qualifying individuals and families who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or in other vulnerable populations.

These activities include acquisition and development of non-congregate shelter, tenant based rental assistance, McKinney-Vento Supportive Services, homelessness prevention services, housing counseling services and HOME-ARP affordable rental housing development.

The City considered the needs of qualifying populations, as well as other funding sources that currently address these needs, combined with feedback and insight from the City's residents, partners and stakeholders, as well as the required capacity of local organizations to carry out approved activities.

Based on extensive research and information provided, staff recommends the full amount of the one-time allocation to be substantially distributed to McKinney-Vento Supportive Services, which include but not limited to child care, education, employment assistance and job training, food, housing search and counseling services, life skills training, m...
