Explanation:

The Department of Development Services, Code Compliance Division, desires to appoint two Special Magistrates to serve the City of Hollywood.

Code Compliance hosts Special Magistrate hearings each month for properties that have not remedied their violation(s). Adjudications and lien impositions are then issued by a Magistrate when applicable.

A competitive process was followed by requesting informal quotes from nine firms, which resulted in two responses as follows:

Thomas J. Ansbro, P.A.

Judith E. Secher, Esq.

Retainer Agreements have been executed with each respondent for a three-year period, with the City’s option to renew for two additional one-year periods, in the annual amount of $9,000.00 each.

Fiscal Impact:

Funding for this agreement is available in the FY2023 Operating Budget in account number 001.220101.53900.531240.000000.000.000.
