Explanation:
At the September 14, 2021, City Commission meeting, Florida Department of Transportation shared their proposal for I-95 between Hallandale Beach Blvd and Hollywood Blvd. After many discussions, our City Commission passed a Resolution supporting a “No build Alternative” due to various concerns. The issues included the impact of the proposed project on the local roadway network in the area, impact on the access for emergency vehicles along I-95, as well as impact on the City owned land identified for drainage.
Based on the City’s feedback, FDOT staff have developed a refined alternative as shown in the attached document. The revisions have addressed all staff concerns regarding the local roadway impacts and the emergency access. The drainage issue may be addressed through negotiations, and support of this alternative does not obligate the City as it relates to City owned lands. FDOT staff will be presenting this alternative.
Fiscal Impact:
This presentation has no fiscal impact on the City.
