Explanation:
February is National Black History Month which honors African American achievements and recognizes their significant roles in United States history.
Since 1928, The Association for the Study of African American Life and History has provided a national theme for Black History Month, and this year’s theme is “Black Resistance.”
The proclamation will be accepted by Commissioner Linda Hill Anderson.
The proclamation will be presented at the February 1, 2023 City Commission Meeting.
Fiscal Impact:
Approval of this Proclamation will not fiscally impact the City.
