Explanation:

The Department of Public Utilities (“Department”) desires to purchase two Vactor sewer cleaner trucks with five-year maintenance agreements to clean and maintain water, sewer, and stormwater conveyance systems.  These trucks will be primarily used for water distribution and stormwater soft digs, clearing blockages in main lines, wash downs, cleaning of drains, manholes, and catch basins.

A competitive process for similar services was performed via the Sourcewell RFP #101221 for Sewer Vacuum, Hydro-Excavation and Municipal Pumping Equipment with related Accessories and Supplies and the bid issued to Environmental Products Group (“EPG”).  Sourcewell issued an Initial Agreement with EPG for the period of December 26, 2021 through November 29, 2025.  Prices remain fixed for the initial term of the Agreement.

EPG has agreed to provide the Department similar Sewer Vacuum Cleaning Equipment at the same pricing as provided for in Contract Agreement RFP #101221.

The Department Director recommends that the City Commission approve and authorize the appropriate City officials to execute the attached Blanket Purchase Agreement in an amount not to exceed $1,114,861.90, with EPG.

Fiscal Impact:

Partial funding for this service was included in the amended FY 2023 Capital Improvement Plan account numbers 441.409904.53600.564530.001642.000.000 and 443.419901.53800.564530.001641.000.000 and additional funding required for this project requires amending the FY 2023 Capital Improvement Program for $114,861.90 as detailed in Exhibit 1 and Exhibit 2, subject to approval of this resolution.

Recommended for inclusion on the agenda by:
