Explanation:

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts (“PRCA”) has applied for and received grant funding from the Children’s Services Council (“CSC”) for the past 18 years to provide Youth Summer Programs at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Kay Gaither, McNicol and Washington Park Community Centers, as well as afterschool programing at Kay Gaither and McNicol Community Centers.

PRCA would like to amend the maximum amount payable to the City from $108,889.00 to $88,889.00 for the period of July 1, 2022 - September 30, 2022, and from $931,040.00 to $951,040.00 for the October 1, 2022-through September 30, 2023, grant period.

This amendment will amend the 5% matching funds to reflect these changes.

Fiscal Impact:

Adoption of this resolution will not fiscally impact the City as the total amount of the grant award remains the same and has been budgeted in the appropriate fiscal years. Additionally, the estimated value of the City’s in-kind match is five percent or $52,027.00 which is comprised of a portion of current full time PRCA staff salaries and also remains unchanged.
