Explanation:
The City of Hollywood's Education Advisory Committee was created to help promote and support quality educational opportunities in the City and seeks to make sure the opportunities in Hollywood are among the best available in the State of Florida. Meetings are held on the third Monday of each month, except for August and December, when the Committee is in recess.
Education Advisory Committee members must reside, work or attend public school in Hollywood, and be known for their Countywide interest in education. Further, persons of diverse perspectives are to be represented on the Education Advisory Committee, including parents of school-age or pre-school-age children, educators, businesspeople, and persons with a background and knowledge in child development and/or education-related fields.
The Education Advisory Committee may consist of fifteen total members: nine Regular Members, four Teacher Members, and two Student Alternate Members.
There is a vacant Student Alternate Member position with a term expiring on June 30, 2025 due to the removal of Lucas Puls.
Fiscal Impact:
Approval of this resolution will not fiscally impact the City.
