Explanation:
On June 25, 1997, the Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") adopted the Hollywood Beach Redevelopment Plan for the Hollywood CRA Beach District which identifies the need to redevelop the A1A corridor by improving circulation for pedestrians, bicyclist and motorists and to underground the overhead utility lines along SR A1A.
On February 5, 2019, the CRA Board approved Resolution No. R-BCRA 2019-09, authorizing the appropriate CRA officials to negotiate and execute a contract with the highest ranked firm, Kimley-Horn and Associates Inc. ("KH") to provide consulting services for Phase IV Undergrounding of Overhead Utilities and Streetscape Beautification.
On June 3, 2020, the CRA approved Resolution No. R-BCRA 2020-20, which authorized KH to provide consulting services for the design of Phase IV- Undergrounding of Overhead Utilities and Streetscape Beautification for 18 east west streets and SR A1A,
The CRA will like to include the Florida Department of Transportation's ("FDOT") Resurfacing, Restoration and Rehabilitation ("RRR") component, which is scheduled to be funded in July 2024 and add the RRR Project to the CRA Phase IV scope.
On May 5, 2022, the CRA through the City submitted a letter of interest to the Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT") to enter into a Joint Partnership Agreement ("JPA") to combine the CRA's SR A1A project scope with the proposed FDOT Resurfacing, Restoration and Rehabilitation ("RRR"), and on July 25, 2022, FDOT responded to the letter of interest accepting the r...
