Explanation:
Section 2.03 of the City Charter states the Vice-Mayor shall serve for a term of one year, and that the Commission shall vote to select a Vice-Mayor.
Resolution No. R-2020-172 states the Commission intends, as a general rule, to elect the Commissioner who has continuously held the office of Commissioner the longest without having served as the Vice-Mayor; and
Resolution R-2020-324 appointed Linda Sherwood as Vice-Mayor to serve a term of one year, effective December 2, 2020.
A new Vice-Mayor must be appointed for a one year term.
Fiscal Impact:
Approval of this Resolution will not fiscally impact the City.
