Explanation:
The City has two separate agreements for legal services provided by the law firm of Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman, P.L. (“Weiss Serota”), one for labor and employment matters, which are handled primarily by Paul T. Ryder, Jr. and Lindsey Ryder, and one for matters other than labor and employment matters that are handled by other members of the firm.
The fees accrued for matters other than labor and employment are approaching $100,000.00 for Fiscal Year 2021, and the City Attorney estimates that by the end of the fiscal year, they will exceed $100,000.00.
The City Attorney is therefore requesting an additional $35,000.00 to pay for fees accrued for matters other than labor and employment, for a total not to exceed $135,000.00 for Fiscal Year 2021.

Funding for this agreement is available in the Fiscal Year 2021 Operating Budget in account number 001.020101.51400.531220.000000.000.000.
