Staff Recommends: Approval of Attached Resolution.
Explanation:
House Bill 1339 requires the appointment of an elected official on the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (AHAC).
The principal action of the AHAC is to recommend the implementation of affordable housing incentives to facilitate affordable housing submitted annually to the Florida Housing Finance Corporation (FHFC). In addition, the AHAC convenes on call to revue policies, resolutions, ordinances and other actions of the City Commission that may increase the cost of housing.
The appointed elected official (or designee) must attend biannual regional workshops convened and administered by the Affordable Housing Catalyst Program. Failure of the elected official (or designee) to attend three consecutive regional workshops may result in the corporation withholding funds pending the person’s attendance at the next regularly scheduled biannual meeting.
Fiscal Impact:
There is no fiscal impact associated with the resolution.
