Explanation:
The passage of the City's General Obligation Bond in March of 2019 included provisions to set funding aside in the amount of $2,189,118.00 for the establishment of the City of Hollywood's Traffic Calming Program. The City's Engineering, Transportation & Mobility Division regularly receives numerous requests from residents throughout the City for Traffic Calming Devices to address speeding and cut-through traffic. These devices have been installed at numerous locations in the past. Phase I of the Traffic Calming Program has recently been completed and as a result, approximately sixty (60) local streets were evaluated through Resolution R-2020-056. There is a demonstrated and ongoing need to perform such studies in order to provide a safe environment along local streets throughout all of the neighborhoods in the City of Hollywood.

On December 19, 2018, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution No. R-2018-400 that authorized the execution of continuing service contracts with five firms, one of which was Atkins North America, Inc. to provide professional engineering services for civil, landscape architecture and planning services.
