Explanation:

The State Housing Initiatives Partnership (“SHIP Act”), F.S. 420.907-420.9079 and Rule 67-37 of the Florida Administrative Code requires local governments to develop a one- to three-year Local Housing Assistance Plan outlining how the allocated funds will be used.  In addition, local governments must annually report on the new and existing housing benefiting from awards made pursuant to the funding.

The Florida Housing Finance Corporation requests that all local governments present the SHIP Annual Report during a public meeting of the local Governing Body.  The Department of Development Services has prepared the required SHIP Annual Reports and is presenting them to the City Commission for approval prior to transmitting the documents to the Florida Housing Finance Corporation.

Fiscal Impact:

The funding associated with this report is financed by State Housing Initiatives Partnership funds as provided by the Florida Housing Finance Corporation (FHFC).
