Staff Recommends:  Approval of the attached Resolution.

Explanation:

On July 1, 2020, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution No. R-2020-171, authorizing the execution of a First Amendment to the existing agreement with Broward County for the City to provide parking management and enforcement services in the Hollywood North Beach pocket park parking lots for a one-year term.

The existing agreement expires on June 30, 2021 and Broward County desires to extend the agreement for a three-month term through September 30, 2021 under the same terms and conditions of the current agreement.

The Parking Administrator recommends approval of the resolution.

Fiscal Impact:

The City currently retains up to 10% gross parking revenues and receives reimbursement in the amount of $0.24 per transaction to cover merchant fees for the management and enforcement services provided at Hollywood North Beach. The gross parking revenues cover approximately 40 hours of City parking enforcement per month.  Additional revenues may be retained to cover sales tax.  Over the next few months, the Parking Division will be in communication with the County to negotiate the terms of providing this service in future years.
