Explanation:
On February 20, 2019, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution No. R-2019-030 approving Administrative Policies governing new affordable housing programs funded pursuant to the Interlocal Agreement ("ILA") among Broward County, the City of Hollywood and the Hollywood Community Redevelopment Agency.

Within the Administrative Policies was an Owner-Occupied Housing Rehabilitation Program that funded exterior home improvements, safety upgrades, and beautification to homes within the eligible ILA area.

Subsequently, staff identified certain "Demonstration Block Areas" within the ILA that can best demonstrate the positive influences of the Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program.

Rebuilding Together Broward County, Inc. has a long history of providing these services in Broward County and can provide a dedicated source of staffing to these areas while City staff can continue Owner-Occupied Housing Rehabilitation efforts Citywide.

Because of Rebuilding Together Broward County, Inc.'s staffing infrastructure, experience and unique ability to solicit volunteers, staff recommends that it is in the City's best interest to have the administer the City's Owner-Occupied Housing Rehabilitation Program within the Demonstration Block Areas.
