Body

Staff Recommends:  Approval of the Attached Resolution.

Explanation:

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts (PRCA) solicited proposals to conduct a Citywide Parks System Study and create a Citywide Parks Master Plan document.

On April 3, 2019 Resolution No. R-2019-076 approved and authorized an agreement with Barth Associates LLC to develop a comprehensive PRCA Department System Master Plan (“PRSMP”).

The purpose of the PRSMP is to help guide the development of parks and recreation facilities, programs, and services for the next five to ten years.

Findings from the PRSMP will be incorporated into the City’s other guiding documents, including the Citywide Comprehensive Plan and Capital Improvements Program.

Fiscal Impact:

Approval of this Resolution will not fiscally impact the City as this is a proposal for adoption of the PRSMP.  However, the implementation of the various aspects of the plan would require appropriation for operating and/or capital expenditures.
