Explanation:
Up to 3 million tons of food is wasted in Florida annually, while 1 in 7 Floridians lack consistent access to nutritious food for an active, healthy life. The City of Hollywood is participating in this event by raising awareness through a video, news release and social media, and inspiring a call to action to reduce food waste in our homes, workplaces and communities.
The proclamation with be accept by Elaine Franklin, Environmental Sustainability Coordinator.
The proclamation will be presented at the April 7, 2021 City Commission Meeting.
Fiscal Impact:
Approval of this Proclamation will not fiscally impact the City.
