Explanation:
Community Development programs are funded in part by federal funding made available through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, which is administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

On October 21, 2020, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution No. R-2020-266, approving the allocation of CDBG funds to various eligible public service agency programs and authorized the appropriate City officials to execute agreements with each of the agencies, including Hispanic Unity of Florida, Inc.

Due to the continued financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Development Services/Community Development Division desires to provide the balance of CDBG funds, originally allocated to Hispanic Unity of Florida, Inc., to support their Case Management and Social Services Assistance program.

Hispanic Unity of Florida, Inc.'s Case Management and Social Services Assistance program provides a combination of assessment of family needs, case management, reemployment application assistance, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) application assistance, assistance with Medicaid/Florida Kid Care applications and job readiness and/or employment assistance to eligible Hollywood residents.

The agreement with Hispanic Unity of Florida, Inc. will not exceed the amount of $16,984.00.

Fiscal Impact:
Funding for the agreement has been provided by Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds and is available in account number 111.160101.55400.584270.001321.000.000.
