Explanation:
The City’s Fiscal Year 2020-21 Sidewalk Project includes proposed new sidewalk and ADA curb ramp construction along various streets within the City. The project’s estimated cost is $2,501,545.00. This Project is funded within the City’s FY 2020-2021 Capital Improvement Program through various funding sources as detailed below.
In order to implement the Fiscal Year 2020-21 Sidewalk Project, the Department of Development Services/Engineering, Transportation and Mobility Division desires to piggyback on an existing Broward County contract with MBR Construction Inc. The services were competitively bid by Broward County pursuant to RFQ No. PNC2120194B1 on November 10, 2020, and the current term of the contract is from November 10, 2020 through November 20, 2022, with an option to renew the contract for an additional one-year period.
In Phase 1, the following sidewalk projects will be completed by MBR Construction Inc.:
• Johnson St, between North 17th Ave and North 14th Ave
• Polk St, between North 9th Ave and the marina parking lot
• North 64th Ave, between Taft St and Grant Ct
• West Park Rd, at North 37th Ave crosswalk connection
• North Park Rd, between Liberty St and West Park Rd
• South Park Rd, between Pembroke Rd and Hollywood Blvd
• South 14th Ave, between Wiley St and Funston St
• South 24th Terrace, between Washington St and Plunket St
• North 64th Ave at 245 North 64th Ave crosswalk connection
The results of the sidewalk inventory as well as future Complete Streets and other Localized Initiatives Program (“CSLIP”) funded sidewalk projects and various funded City projects will be used to identify and prioritize additional areas within the city for the remaining phases of this contract.
Fiscal Impact:
$440,000.00 in funding is available in account number 336.149901.54100.563010.001279.000.000, and $2,061,545.00 in funding is in account number 111.160502.51900.583440.001247.000.000.
